In the sixty-year cycle, 2026 is 丙午 — the stem 丙, yang Fire, over the branch 午, the Horse, itself Fire's strongest seat. Fire above, Fire below: the cycle's most concentrated heat. The last such year was 1966; the next is 2086.
Fire years accelerate. Plans surface, tempers shorten, work becomes visible whether or not it is ready. In a double-Fire year this is doubled: the year rewards decisiveness and punishes drift, in roughly equal measure.
What it asks depends on your own chart. Wood people will feel drawn on — generous, and at risk of burning out. Earth people are fed by the year. Metal feels the heat as pressure to change shape. Water must choose its battles. And Fire people are in their own season, with all the momentum and blindness that brings.
The classical advice for hot years is unglamorous: keep Water near. Rest deliberately. Finish before you announce. The year will supply the spark — your work is the hearth.
Folklore attaches drama to 丙午 years, but classical reading is calmer: it is simply a very Fire year. Whether that is friction or fuel depends on your own chart's balance.
By solar reckoning, at 立春 — the “start of spring,” around February 4th — not at Lunar New Year. BaZi charts follow the solar boundary.
